RE: [cobalt-users] RaQ4 Catch-all email problem

I'm a newbie so my suggestion might be way off base, but...
I always setup mail.domain.com as an A record and then set the MX record as:
domain.com -> high priority mail server mail.domain.com

seems to work fine and I am having no problems using the @www.domain.com
alias as a catchall.

Subject: [cobalt-users] RaQ4 Catch-all email problem

I have got two RaQ4i servers and so far I have been unable to get catchall
email addresses to work for virtual sites. I set up DNS as follows:

domain.com -> IP address
www.domain.com -> IP address
IP address/24 -> domain.com

domain.com -> high priority mail server www.domain.com
www.domain.com -> high priority mail server www.domain.com

Then I enter domain.com and www.domain.com in the "Relay for the following
Hosts/Domains" and domain.com in "Host/Domain Aliases" in Email Server
parameters. (these details have always disappeared the next time I check the
email parameters page of the control panel on both my RaQ4s)

I then set up the virtual site with a user with aliases of user and
@www.domain.com.

Sending an email to the user works fine but when I send and email that
should go to the catch-all address it always gets bounced with the following
error message:

212.67.192.84 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 554 5.0.0 rewrite: excessive recursion (max 50), ruleset
canonify
Giving up on 212.67.192.84.

I have tried Cobalt in the Netherlands without success. Any help would be
appreciated.

Thanks,
Gerald Majumdar
