I'm not subscribed to this list, and because of my current situation, can't be. So please cc: all responses to dgerow@xxxxxxxxxxxx Thanks.
About 2 hours ago, our mail system died. Specifically, whenever we try to retrieve our mail by POP3, we get the message:
-ERR [SYS/TEMP] maillock error 4: '/var/spool/mail/dgerow' (where "dgerow" is the name of the user)
At this point, procmail seemed to be taking its sweet time. I kill -15'ed all the long-standing procmail processes (which only turned out to be 2; once those were gone, all the rest flushed through without a problem).
I haven't made any large changes to the box today, but I did add the SSH packages two days ago.
Can anyone help me? It's getting a bit difficult reading all my messages with mailx, and I don't think our VP's would quite grasp the concept of a Unix shell...
