Not unless you hook up the wires wrong.
Well looking at
http://www.cobalt.com/support/pdf/qube2manual.pdf
it looks to me like it needs 12V@xxxx with some "handy dandy" connector.
You might be able to find a 4 or 5 amp "ac adaptor" but I would be leary of
the quality of the power you would be getting. I would suggest you get a
nice regulated 12v@5a power supply something like

or if you want a frame around it.

should cost about $30us and please note that wires are not included and you
should use that multimeter to check the polarity of the connector before and
after you move it.
