I guess you installed the OS-Update 3.0! :)

You have to install more memory... It seems the configuration of sendmail
is a lot harder on memory usage, I haven't looke into it, just seen this
happen to both qube and raq2 with the latest update.

Either change into a new server with more memory or upgrade the memory of
the server or find the settings in sendmail.cf to turn off this behaviour.

Ok,
Attach a serial terminal to it setings 115200,8,N,1
When you see Press CTRL-D for normal startup enter your root password.

Next type umount /dev/hda1
Then type this
fsck /dev/hda1 -f;fsck/dev/hda3 -f;fsck /dev/hda4
Answer Y to everything.

When that's done type reboot.

I am using an Access97 database and I want to use Perl to access this
database to display information on my web page. I cannot find
documentation
explaining whether or not the version of Perl loaded on the Cube 2 has
the correct module
installed that will allow me to access this Access97 database. Do you
know
if this is possible or can you point me to a developer that has made
this happen?

Thanks for your help.

hi folks, I generated a cert for the main site on my Raq 3 and when it came

of the admin interfaces. (main or virtual)

I assume it is forcing https: access but since something didn't go right in

Anyone have any ideas how I can:

A. bypass the forced https access to fix this

Hi all,

Is it generally accepted on this list, that firms may post commercial
ads about their new products for the Cobalt hardware?

(if so, I would be glad to send an email each time we put out a new
pkg file. But I want to check first, as most do not like spam mail in
any way)

check the knowldge base ... no, the mailling list search engine and search
for 'raq4 password' you should see a message about the raq for having a
bug in its configuration in an AllowOveride directive. Do read the WHOLE
message through at least ONCE before making any modifications to the files
that it talks about.

I was just working with that yesterday for setting up the password
protection using htaccess.

In a review of your posts.... Let me say something. Stop Top Posting,
Stop Posting without snipping, Stop insulting people, Stop offering to do
work when you are a newbie, Stop saying "I have that problem to", Stop not
signing your posts, Stop giving half answers, Stop stealing content, Stop
speaking without reading first, Stop posting cobalt knowlegebase pages, Stop
posting your unrelated events on other posts, Etc.

If you do I might just help you sometime. But I doubt it........

Have another bud newbie!

RAQ3 ? Will PAY

I have a RAQ3
I have searched knowledge base and spent hours searching the list, to the
point that I am scared witless to ask this question, having seen the
responses to similar previous posts - But all the replies I have seen to
these questions have left me still unable to achieve what I need.

I have managed to get my domain to accept wildcards (I think) having
followed the postings , but I still cant get perl redirect scripts to work.

They always take me back to mydomain.com and I do not want to turn Redirect
to Off

SO.............. If anyone can explain to me in detail how to do it - I am
willing to sell my grandmother to pay for this - although I doubt if she
will fetch fortunes - so please be gentle.

On my RAQ 3 I have 1 IP address.
my domain is fwsshop.com
I have a domain moorsoft.com whose pages will be stored in
fwsshop.com/moorsoft
I do not want to set up a new virtual host
But I need anyone browsing for moorsoft.com to reach fwsshop.com/moorsoft

If anyone can explain to me in simple terms (I am an idiot) I would be very
grateful and indeed as mentioned be willing to pay a reasonable cost.

Many thanks and Best Regards

through professional services...for $200/hr. What bullshit.

Chances are, you've previously applied one of Cobalt's upgrade patches
(RaQ3-All-System Release 3.0.1-6375) from their web site, which was
pulled a
week or so afterwards because of the issues you're describing. (e.g.,
Cobalt
broke your box with their bad patch).
--------
I don't have this patch, yet I can't see any stats on my raq3. From the
/admin section of the browser I get:

"Usage report has not yet been generated. Reports are generated nightly
for each site if activity has been logged."

On the page prior to the DNS changes page (the one on which you select
DNS parameters) there's a checkmark for turning DNS off and on.

I presume it's checked "on"?

As I know we have a lot of older customers subscribing to this list I
thought it was a good way of informing them of a new product which has
features I know a lot of users have asked for.

I can assure you if you don't want me to inform you of our products I
won't, for example withing a week or 2 I will have an upgraded version of
our SSL-server for the RaQ2 which gives you Apache 1.3.14/mod_ssl (latest
version/ php 3.0.16 and php 4.0.3pl1 both secure and unsecure, then I
won't everybody who are interested will have to go to our webpage to get
the information when it is available.

While I don't condone the bad behavior any more than Mr. Cluff, may I
take this opportunity to point out that of the last 30,000 messages
posted to this quite active list, Mr. Cluff has made exactly .....

So I guess we won't miss him too much <wry grin>.

Entirely speaking for myself...

I like to know when new third-party products become available. Perhaps
there should be an announcement list, but then how would people know to
sign up for it?

Rickard Osser's SSL product for the RaQ2 has been recognized by Cobalt
as _the_ SSL solution for the Cobalt RaQ2. Cobalt has even pulled their
own, and now tells callers to buy the one from Brosoft (Osser).
