In My Humble Opinion

I think the best place for this stuff is on the cobalt announcement list and
should only be available for products that have earned there cobalt wings
and are listed on the cobalt site.  Actually this would be great because
then everybody could learn about changes and improvements to various
products and be more informed about the entire line of third party packages.

As far as selling products to a user group.  Ahhh no.  If somebody asks if
other software is available or if it comes up in conversation then ok but
not just to announce/advertise a product with a price.  If it was free and
people had some interest in it then that could be a form of group
participation.  Otherwise users should subscribe to the products list.
