[cobalt-users] Re: Strange /var/log/messages activity (alex@xxxxxxxxx)

Hi -

I was wondering the same a few weeks ago.  It is covered in the Knowledge Base.
It is the result of the Active Monitor testing your services every 15 minutes.

      Looking  at  the  /var/log/messages  file, I
noticed some unusual activities:

Oct 28 18:45:03 dev telnetd[22179]: ttloop: read:
Broken pipe
Oct 28 19:00:00 dev proftpd[22823]: dev.tiaxa.net
(localhost[127.0.0.1]) - FTP session closed.
Oct 28 19:00:03 dev telnetd[22831]: ttloop: read:
Broken pipe
Oct 28 19:15:01 dev proftpd[23479]: dev.tiaxa.net
(localhost[127.0.0.1]) - FTP session closed.

      They  seem to repeat every 15 minutes, even if
I\'m not logged in
      (which is the case on the above two lines).

      Any ideas?
