Hi!

We had something similar going on here over the last few days.
The mail system was shut down due to (cpu) overload.
Someone was using our raq as a mail relay to send spam.
If your /var/log/maillog is suspiciously big you should check if
your system also allows relaying for all top level domains (this was
set as a default on our system) and limit it accordingly to your needs.
