I've looked, what I've found is that I should just add the user I want to
the groups (/etc/group, group-, gshadow, gshadow-)...
but this doesn't seem to work...It gets me partway there, but somewhere the
perl scripts check a db (/var/cobalt/uidb ?) I believe and then deny access
to certain siteadmin pages...

Check the knowledge base on this one. But I think you can add the admin
username and password to the sites and then you'd have the ability to FTP
into each one. There supposedly is a 32 site limit to this though. Some
limit of Linux.
