RE: [cobalt-users] RE: [Qube2] PDC

thanks for the advice

I've finally found the Cobalt support search page, which is only available
on the US cobalt site...(!)

after some reading I've decided the most reliable route is to install a
'real' windows PDC and use an NT-PAM plugin to query the Qube for domain
authentication.

If anyone has done this and has any advice, please let me know... either to
the group or directly by email.

To the best of my knowledge Samba is not quite able to be a PDC yet. There
is code in the latest release to do it, but I believe its still a bit
experimental.

I think the latest release of Samba is something like 2.0.7. Cobalt have a
MIPS version of 2.0.7 ... its included in a NASRaQ OS Update;

    NASRaQ-Update-OS-2.0.pkg

but I have not seen it elsewhere.

Probably the best person to provide advice would be a member of the Samba
Team. I believe John Blair, author of at least one book /etc/smb.conf.

Cobalt's Professional Services Group may also be prepared to assist for $$$.

Cheers,  Malcolm
