Hi Guys,
Package: NASRaQ-Update-OS-2.0.pkg
Size: 7,456,388 bytes
Posted: July 25, 2000
<http://ftp.cobalt.com/pub/packages/nasraq/NASRaQ-Update-OS-2.0.pkg>
The release notes say ...
* Added ftp server software to the NASRaQ. FTP is not supported but it
there for the convenience of advanced users who wish to run an FTP
server on their NASRaQ.
* Added group integration when nt domain integration is selected.
* Updates samba to version 2.0.7. This provides more compatibilty for
Windows 2000 users.
* Allows file permissions to be changed from an NT machine.
* Works around problems with the latest Appleshare client on MacOS and
Appleshare/IP.
* Adds an encrypted password when used with MacOS.
* Appleshare/IP will now start up correctly even if the hostname is
unresolvable. This case often happens when dhcp is used.
* Mac database applications should now work correctly when using the nas
and an appleshare volume.
IMHO SAMBA v2.0.7 and the AppleShare enhancements would be real nice on a
Qube2 (or Gateway Microserver for that matter).
The NASRaQ package probably won't install on a Qube2 as is but what would it
take to alter it to install the applicable bits?
Anyone know if these enhancements are included in the Qube 3?
Cheers, Malcolm
