[cobalt-users] HELP NEEDED! Chili ASP + MySql connectivity on Cobalt raq 4i server.

Dear fellow cobalt users,

for the past 1 week, i have been having a major problem in establishing connectivity between, chili soft Asp and mysql on my cobalt raq4i server. I would deeply appreciate if any one of you could either go through what i have done so far and mail me regarding my mistakes and put me on the right path or point me in the right direction.

We have installed mysql-3.21.33on a Cobalt RaQ4i server running Red Hat Linux 5 adapted for the Cobalt RaQ 4i server. We have followed the procedure to the 'T', but we have run into problems of connectivity between MySQL with both Perl and Chilisoft ASP (both are pre-instaled on the Cobalt RaQ4i server).

If you are able to solve the problem please mail back at the mail id given above or at any one or all of the following addresses.
b-bhr@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
asingh@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,

My phone number is 604-852-5123 and I am in Vancouver, Canada. If the solution functions as we required, we do not mind paying a sum of $50 to the person providing the solution.

Steps tried till now.

We have installed: MySQL Ver 9.16 Distrib 3.21.33c, for PC-Linux-gnu (i686) (as shown by the raq4i when mysqladmin -V command is issued)

Problems we faced:

1. we were unable to run the './configure' file
2. since we were unable to execute the above command, the make utility also does not execute properly.

The My SQL database is working because we can do the following:

The installation part though not completely as per book, the 'mysql_install_db' script executed and performed its functions. some other functions such as the mysql engine ('mysql') and the 'mysqladmin' with options like version etc are running properly.

Help is required to configure connectivity between MySQL & ChiliASP.

Regards,
Srivas
