[cobalt-users] Qube 2 and Shadow Passwords

Hi All;

Since I complained about no shadowed passwords on my new Qube 2, I am
working on how to shadow it.

I have the 2 Shadow RPM's off the Cobalt site installed and I did shadow
my passwords for a few mins... but I was unable to telnet in, But I was able
to use the GUI and re-enter my
passwords... here is my observations....

Shadow does work on the passwd file
You can get access via the GUI but you loose telnet access
You re-enter the password in the GUI, you loose your shadow password and
regain telnet access.

Here are my questions....
How do you keep the GUI from not adding un-shadow passwords when you add a
user?
How do you fix the ability to use shadow passwords and telnet?

I am not a Linux GURU but I am learning. I am depending on my
Linksys as a basic firewall using NAT and only drilling the needed
holes for Port 80 and the 2 e-mail ports.

I use an ADSL for my business domain and some file storage.
It does work well since my ISP has been a real nice guy and let
me use his DNS for my domain. I am also helping him out in other
areas.

I am hoping someone on the list already answered these questions.

Thanks for any help or pointers.
