My point wasn't clear : not all spam's related posts were a nuisance.
Some were, some were not. I think that discussing about how to stop
spam ... is valid. However, I feel that when 1 email out of 3 talks
about spam, it's getting out of hands. I do think that keeping a good
signal/noise ratio is quite important. People discussing that closing
the list will reduce spam is good. People replying to spam to comment
it is, I think, less appropriate. Spam is a well known subject.
Adding to its nuisance a lot of discussions is painful.
But, talking about ways to reduce it that can satisfy everyone is
very good, sure.

As long as it stays at a low level, yes. As soon as it becomes the
major point of discussion, no. I don't have anything against people
trying to eradicate spam : I do support them 100%. But, really, I
don't want this list to become rec.jokes.on.spam.
As you mentionned, reading and discarding an email takes time. This
is true for spam and non-effective discussions on it.
No offense meant, I just would like people not making too much fun
about spam on the list, because it also becomes a nuisance.
I would like not to make further comments on the subject on this
list, but please feel free to email me directly (fabrice@xxxxxxxxxx)
if you wish so.
Sorry for having been unclear,
Fabrice Prémel.
