unusual for ISP's that sell dedicated servers (ones that you did not buy
outright) to place a user on the cobalt in order to do maintainence, in
fact, it is quite common. If you are co-locating the cobalt (you own the
server, your just renting rack space), I would say that it is probably not
appropriate (But again, you should refer to your contract). As long as
your the ONLY one doing maintainence on your RaQ, and don't have that as
part of the deal, I would say that you are the only one that should have
administrative privledges. IMHO
This is really a policy question I guess. We just realized (only took a
couple of months) thatthe SysAdmin from the company which we colocate our
server had set himself up a root access. This was done without telling us.
He has, from the logs, being going into our server at least a couple of
times per month since we had the server with them.
