Wow, quite cheap. You might try charging more. A buck a month seems
quite low. There has to a be a few buck in time just setting up the site
for the user.

Correct me if I am wrong, as I have some old brochures in front of me at
the moment, but I believe the brochures and the PDFs list the 250 site
limit? Again, correct me if I am wrong.

Hi All
I looked through the archives, knowledgebase and cobalt support sites but to
no avail.
I have this cgi script that is running on 4 different sites with no
problems.
When I uploaded it to a users site I received the following error
The requested method POST is not allowed for the URL /~kinkit1/soudan.html.
This is a formmail script (mailto.cgi) which I found at www.cgibuilder.com.
It needs the method set to post to work.
Has anyboby had this same problem, if so how did you fix it.
TIA

You may run the command as
makemap hash /etc/virtusertable < /etc/virtusertable
and there won't be any problem.
Supporting evidence for RAQ3, look in to Cobalt's perl module
/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.005/Cobalt/Email.pm
line 74 reads as
system("$MakeMap_cmd hash $map < $map >>/dev/null 2>&1")
where $MakeMap_cmd = makemap and $map = /etc/virtusertable

Cool.. web hosting for a buck a month ay.. I've got $24 bucks somewhere..
do we get eggable shellz with that ;) </sarcasm>
seriously - apache is theoretically capable of several thousand (well lets
face it , 65,000 + ) websites. The reason there are limits there in the
first place are because of all the other things that make your raq tick -
will fall over. Not to mention resources, log files etc. All I can say is..
if you do manage to get out of the limits, dont expect analog, log rotation,
the admin GUI, backups or even authentication (.ht or otherwise) to work.

That is not always the best way for some of us to do that, I know that I
personally spend about half of my time adding information
to the relaying field in the GUI for new users, and existing users that
change services regularly. I would also like to know how to
fully open up the relaying, it would save me at least an hour a day in admin
time.
P.S. Please don't suggest POP before SMTP as I hate servers that I use for
email that do that.

Just put .com .net and .org in there and then watch your server get black
holed by MAPS RSS and ORBS as an open relay. I know my server won't accept
mail from you.
The simple fact is, your clients shouldn't need to relay mail through your
server. What kind of ISP are they using that don't have SMTP for them?

this file works fine, but if I type www.mydomain.com/demo the index.php3

AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .php3 (in the srm.conf file.)
But I don´t know how I do it.-(
Somebody can explain me step by step how I can do it?
(Can I download the file by ftp, edit it and so, upload agian?.. or I can do

Hi,
you should try using an .htaccess file. Create a file ".htaccess" in
the 'demo' directory. The file should contain
DirectoryIndex index.php3

Sounds like a majordomo mailing list. If it encounters certain keywords
(such
as "cancel") in the first 10 or so lines of the body of the email, by
default
the email is routed to the list admin instead of the list. You can do a
number
of things to control this. The easiest is to change "administrivia = yes"
to
"administrivia = no" in the list's config file. "locate LISTNAME.config" to
find the location of it. http://www.greatcircle.com/majordomo/ for the
majordomo site, mailing lists, etc. if you need further assistance.

Hi.
As root at the command prompt, issue this command string:
find / -name 'ssh*'
You should see a list similar to this: (except SSH2 in your case)
/usr/local/bin/ssh1
/usr/local/bin/ssh
/usr/local/bin/ssh-keygen1
/usr/local/bin/ssh-keygen
/usr/local/bin/ssh-agent1
/usr/local/bin/ssh-agent
/usr/local/bin/ssh-add1
/usr/local/bin/ssh-add
/usr/local/man/man1/ssh-keygen1.1
/usr/local/man/man1/ssh-keygen.1
/usr/local/man/man1/ssh-agent1.1
/usr/local/man/man1/ssh-agent.1
/usr/local/man/man1/ssh-add1.1
/usr/local/man/man1/ssh-add.1
/usr/local/man/man1/ssh1.1
/usr/local/man/man1/ssh.1
/usr/local/man/man8/sshd1.8
/usr/local/man/man8/sshd.8
/usr/local/sbin/sshd1
/usr/local/sbin/sshd
You can just remove all the ssh2 files, compile ssh-1.2.27 as you did
with ssh2 and everything will be fine.
Take care Hans.

I expect majordomo to be around for a long time to come.
> When shoud we see a v2,
I only looked at mjd2 once, and when I did, I discovered that it took a
lot more machine resources, and system for system, runs more slowly.
While those issues may have been fixed, I want to point out that while
in a single-user (though multitasking) operating system like Windows you
can fix a resource-hogging program by adding more resources, it's a lot
harder in a multi-user system, since each user needs the resources.
So... I did NOT choose to run mjd2 as of yet. Maybe when it's finally
"done" and blessed <smile>... who knows. I'll certainly try it again
then.
> and a new version of majorcool ?
According to the official majorcool website, the author has stopped
working on majorcool for majordomo v1 so he can concentrate of majorcool
for v2. As far as how long that'll take, you'll have to ask him.
> Can we expect an evolution toward a more friendly interface ?
More friendly than majorcool? Or do you mean an interface from the
majordomo developers? Personally, I don't expect to see an interface at
all from the majordomo team; there's no reason for them to develop
something that already exists.
And as for me, I prefer command-lines and config files, myself <smile>.
Certainly I don't like that there are so many different places to go to
set up a list; I'd much prefer one place. That place could easily be a
script, though <smile, again>. When we install majordomo (1.4.5, btw)
on a system we supply simple cook-book style instructions, sample files,
and sample /etc/aliases.majord and /etc/virtusertable entries.
> What future would you predict for this product besides its competitors ?
While so-called "easier-to-use" list-programs (including one we sell for
us$2,300 for WinNT and Win2K systems) will continue to slowly gain
market-share, majordomo will always do the job for those of us who don't
mind implementing it. While I don't think it'll gain marketshare, I
don't think it'll lose much, either.
Of course Red Hat and other Linux distributors could start packing other
list-managers instead of or in addition to majordomo, and that could
skew the numbers.
> What is your <smile> for ? <smile>
A <smile> is a smile <smile>.
I <smile> a lot. I also <grin>. And even <wry grin>. And a few other
things as well. I spent my early childhood and a lot of later years in
New York City, where we learn to speak with our whole body <LOL>.
