Hi all,
Here is my set up :
1) Raq2 (single IP address) colocated at an ISP, with 80 or so virtual
domains (virtual1.com, virtual2.com...)- only one user per domain
(siteadmin - me) and thats to ftp files in, rather than anything else
2) Each domain is set to recieve email (in the GUI) because oddly this means
that the domain is also accessible without the hostname
(http://www.virtual1.com and http://virtual1.com)
3) My email POP box, is hosted on a separate mailserver at the ISP. My ISP
has an alias to my pop box that is shaun@xxxxxxxxxxxx , shaun@xxxxxxxxxxxx
etc.
4) Raq is not running as a DNS server
5) Raq is not running as a mail server
Eerything works fine, people send me mail at shaun@xxxxxxxxxxxx it comes to
me. I have several scripts running on the Raq that send mail to site users,
and they all work fine. Except, when they try to send mail to anyone at
virtual1.com - then I get an infinite recursion error. My ISP has tried lots
of combinations of DNS settings, Ive tried adding users to the virtual
sites, forwarding emails etc, etc nothing as worked...
Any of you DNS guru's know what I should tell my ISP to set the DNS as? Or
what I need to do to get things working? Is there a way (ouside of the
GUI/Raq) to tell the Raq to accept access without the hostname (www.) but
NOT to collect email for this domain (I believe this is the cause of the
problem)
Hope someone can help,
Shaun
