If you have the IP report him to his ISP and they should take legal action
against the user. Also report the ip to the Blacklist.
We have had three attempts on our server. I have traced them back to
High schools in the states. Two K12 schools and another school on
Ohio. I have made complaints to all schools. I have gotten two, "It
was not our students and not our problem, someone hacked our computer
and then used our IP's to hack other computers" responses. How do I
handle those responses?
I also have gotten a deaf ear from one school. I have requested that
they do something a couple of times with no response yet. What would
be a good thing to do next? Any help here from anyone would be
appreciated.
Which Blacklist and where? Thanks.
If you have the logs send that portion to the Admin at his ISP.
I always include snippets from our log for them to see. I also
describe what methods I used to find who was doing the hacking.
Is there a good website that guides people in the correct method of
lodging formal complaints against certain IP's in an attempted
hacking position. What are the legalities involved? How much support
form the law do I have in cases like these? What *strength* of letter
should I use when dealing with the ISP's.
Thanks
