Hi,
  The biggest difference between Solaris and Linux is that you will get a
whole lot of software free of charge for Linux which you would have to pay
thousands of dollars other wise. Also Linux is easier to customize then
Solaris. Consider this you won't be able to use most of the "add-ons" that
are out there for cobalt because most probably Sun won't release the source
code .
