Did you ever look at the permission model of NT?

One of the things that I think is a huge lacking of Linux is it's very
primitive permission model. It lacks ACLs!

Luckily efforts have been made to get ACLs into Linux:

I hope to have this in kernel 2.6.0 (but you never know).
