Before this thread gets out of hand and anyone else misunderstands
things about what the patch is supposed to do, let me explain something
for those who are panicked slightly:
=================================
The patch FIXES an exploit. IT PREVENTS YOUR RAQ FROM BEING VULNERABLE
to attack from script kiddiez or assorted lamer h4x0r D00dz who have
discovered a l33t program with which to compromise your RaQ, so just
install the thing and be secure in the knowledge that you've just closed
an open door... until someone finds another one ;-)
=================================
I thought it was pretty clear myself.
It looks to me like Cobalt have taken on board some of the comments
we've made on this list about patches, now that we've started to get
them on a more frequent basis - not waiting until there's a large number
and releasing them as a rolled-up package of several. I guess for that
we can all be thankful and have a self-congratulatory pat on the back
too :)
