Perhaps the following:

* Set up a folder in your (root, admin, user) desired account
  where you will store files to download.

* Set up a cron job to copy the files that you are interested in
  to that folder every night (or at whatever interval you wish).
  Also tell the cron job to chown them appropriately.

* FTP at your leisure...
