I doubt they will switch to a Sparc processor--Sun is comitting to Intel
with Solaris, I see no reason why they'd go the other way with this product.
Also if they are trying to go after the low end market, they almost have to
use x86 chips.

The entry level Netra T1 (I think of it as "the perfect webserver") is
pretty much like $7500 base.  I think that is a 400mhz or 366Mhz UltraSparc.

I don't know--Sun has been adopting and supporting open standards more than
most anyone in the industry.

I hope they dump Chilisoft and go with iPlanet or something.  They may well
make Chilisoft opensource now.  Who knows.
