Hi there..
After a while in Limbo land (don't go there!) I have decided to do the
PhP3 - PhP4 path on our Raq 2..
After a scrutinse of the archives and finding lots of useful info, I have
had a go and am stumbling with an obscure issue.. one of the archive mail
suggests upgrading the php installation on our machine to V3.0.16 from the
original 3.0.7 (php3) release that we installed ages ago.
However on doing the required rpm -hUv <name of package> I get the following
strange line...
[root admin]# rpm -hUv php-mysql-3.0.16-2C2.mipsel.rpm
failed dependencies:
php = 3.0.16 is needed by php-mysql-3.0.16-2C2
[root admin]#
??? I have checked and I'm indeed running V3.0.7....
This appears to be a block in the progress as it appears I need a DSO
compiled apache to run Php4, and after doing an install and compiling the
binaries from PHP.net and (after much scrutinising of archives) I am left a
little confused..
My version of compiled PHP4 does not appear to want to produce the much
needed .lib file that I need to include in the httpd.conf file, I am also
not achieving Karma with my php.ini files either (they're not there
guv'nor)...
I would like to start over with my installation as I think that this may
help somewhat, can someone shed some light on whats required to uninstall
PHP4 (or is it safe to recompile over the top of exisiting installations?)..
Confused before? (should be now!)
