Re: [cobalt-users] Virtual site already exists

I finally got this working...

The information presented here is for educational purposes only. Any changes
you make to your server are YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. Back-up early, back-up
often.

I called Cobalt support who, by the way, answer their phone pretty quickly
for a Sunday afternoon.

Having tried the other methods presented in this group and Cobalt's KB on
how to delete sites manually and regenerating the sitelist using
siteList.cgi to no avail...

Did I mention, backup early - backup often. I telnet'ed into the server as
root and deleted the offending files by name www.problemsite.com and deleted
the associated directories (site47 and site48 in my case)

su -
password:
cd /home
cd sites
rm www.problemsite1.com
rm www.problemsite2.com
rmdir site47 -r
rmdir site48 -r

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL with the -r switch, it will remove directories that are
not empty and can do very bad things if used in the wrong place.

And that was it, went back to the GUI and added a new virtual site without a
problem.

And I apologize in advance Jeff for top posting with tons of stuff below
this but your previous post is relevant...
