Jeff,
My administrator reconfigured ours about four months ago. I will email you
the documentation if you want. We have not had a mail failure in that time.
Before it was every hour on the hour our SMTP went down.

It took me months to figure it out; even the various sendmail help lists
weren't very helpful <frown>.
And the changes I documented still need a bit of fine-tuning; we still
get occasional shutdowns under very heavy loads.
Switching from Sendmail to another more efficient MTA is a much better
choice, but seeing how interdependent Sendmail and various Cobalt
processes are on the RaQ, I'd hate to try it <wry grin>.
