I had seen some posts about the new cable/DSL routers that mask IP's and provide DHCP to the network as a way
of providing a firewall. After doing some more reading I decided to give it shot as it sounded like a low cost
solution to be employed either with or without a software firewall as back-up.
I bout a D-Link router and 5 port switch for about $130 delivered. It took all of 5 minutes to set up and
configure through the GUI they provide and it works perfectly. I run a small LAN with 2 servers and several
workstations. The D-Link box can share out up to 128 internal IP addys and can handle both static and fixed
IP's comming in from the ISP.
Just thought I'd pass it along.
