I turn to this list after some frustrating calls with Cobalt tech
support. I am trying to figure out if what I want to do is possible with a
Qube2.
Here is my basic setup:
DSL(static IP)--->Qube2(192.168.x.x)--->Switch--->Workstations(192.168.x.x)
Where to stick my NT servers so they can be reached from both the Internet
and the workstations?
The Qube2 is running Nat and IP forwarding, and handing out reserved IPs
to the workstations via DHCP. The Qube2 is working great, the workstations
can all access the Internet just fine.
Now comes the tricky part:
I have some NT servers that are primarily used by the internal
workstations via TCP/IP. They are also accessed from the Internet. I want
to protect them with the Qube2's firewall, yet still have them available
to remote users. My problem is how to use real IPs on the servers and have
them behind the firewall (on the same side as the workstations).
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
