This is in the archives, did you search them? You need to add a line to
httpd.conf

include /some/path/to/your/personalhttpd.conf

then put all your mods in the include file and they won't be overwritten.

Joe,
I did search the archive, but the post you refer to was regarding a raq
system I believe and was a workaround for pointing subdomains to
directories. I suppose this might work for me, and I intend to try it.

Out of curiosity:
Where is the best place to put the include statement in the httpd.conf file?
I wouldn't think it would matter, the end seems the logical place.

When I modify my httpd.conf file with the include statement, and restart the
server, is it going to rewrite it again with out that modification?

Do I need to modify the httpd.conf.master file? ( I have not seen an
indication anywhere regarding changing this file and I don't want to void
the warranty, such as it is)

Thank you all for your patience in helping me with this matter. I do my
best to gleen the archives well before posting, sometimes things just aint
too clear.
