Re: [cobalt-users] Email attachments stripped off

Where are the files being sent from? Try having the admin at the other end send you an Excel file that is the same size. I've had very good luck working with other admins when I run into a problem like this.

Can he receive other files from this sender?
Do all Excel files get stripped?
What happens when he receives a like-sized Word file from this sender?
Has the sender tried sending the file as a .CSV? Appended within the message?

Is the file stripped or garbled? On occasion, a user will tell me they "didn't get" a file that their machine was unable to decode. If the sender changes the default encoding (uuencode, MIME, etc.) the file sometimes comes through.

Let us know what you have tried and what has not worked. You have sent the same message several times which leads me to believe you have not tried anything new (although I assume that you have).

I have a problem with one customer who sends us Excel files (less than
400Kb) that are routinely stripped off. The ISP says its not happening at
their end... must be our Cube. I cannot find anything in the cube that is
causing this. Also, the recipient then has the customer forward same email
to hotmail address... works fine. He then forwards from hotmail back to the
cube, and they are received fine. I can then forward those same attachments
back to the original recipient, and he receives them fine!

Our customer is getting cranky that we've been unable to resolve this...
any solutions out there?
