RE: [cobalt-users] Pointing a Sub Domain To a directory

Dan - you are right - a simplistic answer - apologies - I am new to this and
trying (too eagerly ?) to help.

in my case i have turned off the rewriteengine for this domain (ie
RewriteEngine off in httpd.conf for the domain) so that the subdomains are
passed through. I don't actually use truevirtual - I wrote my own that does
pretty much the same thing but driven from a database.

I don't use wildcard dns (seen too many negative emails here in the lists on
that)- i turn on specific hosts by creating an A record that points to the
same site (just like I would in a rewriteengine on scenario)

I haven't experienced any issues with this and can still access siteadmin
for the site.

I would like to know if this approach is likely to cause me any problems -
hasn't so far

Now would you provide the necessary information for having the necessary
wildcard DNS settings to use that program?
