[cobalt-users] Log/Webalizer Weirdness...

Hi All!

I've been cruising the archives for the answer to this, but so far, I
haven't found it.

I have webalizer installed on my system (I hand-installed it, not knowing
that there was a lovely RPM out there...D'oh!) and it works fine...I have it
load the web.log.1.gz for that site and chug all the stats -- so far, so
good.

What doesn't work well with it is my Log rotation setup. As mentioned by
John Rood, there is a potential for gaps in the reporting with webalizer and
the RaQ3's logrotation setup...but I can live with that. One of my sites
has the exact gap in reporting he mentioned... But my other site is doing
something completely new and special, so I'm writing to the list. :)

Every time I check this particular site, web.log's size is just 0. And,
web.log.1.gz only contains the results for the last few days. (Basically,
it only has the results that should be in web.log). It has dumped my entire
history for my site by doing this, leaving me with only the last few days.
Web.log has the proper permissions set, and it exists...rwx--r--r and all...
Why has the logrotation system stopped writing to web.log? Why did it dump
the contents of web.log.1.gz? What can I do to slap things around and make
them play nice-nice with me again?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
