Re: [cobalt-users] No one wants to help at Cobalt
Hello,
I changed the files in /etc/cron.daily/logrotate.d and
/etc/cron.daily/logrotate.onboot to adjust the size and I did not
experience any problems.
Here's how I did (NO GUARANTEE):
- telnet to the box as admin
- "su -" to root
- go to /etc/cron.daily/logrotate.d
- call "emacs siteX"
- change the value; del = backspace
- press Ctrl-X,Ctrl-S (save)
- press Ctrl-X,Ctrl-C (exit)
Good luck!

Subject: [cobalt-users] No one wants to help at Cobalt
I sent a message to Cobalt support about modifying web log files and
they bounced me to the "Professional Support Group" in the Netherlands
and I got a message back saying to just change the config files and
reboot and if I needed any other information go back to the free
support
at cobalt. I'm getting dizzy being tossed back and forth from USA to
Netherlands.
Does anyone out there know for sure if I modify the siteX config in
the
etc/logrotate.d AND etc/logrotate.onboot will I screw up anything?
(Logs
aren't responding at all now. And yes I did do searches on the
knowledgebase on Cobalt site, and unless I queried it wrong, I found
no
useful information about this issue.
Thanks for any help ANY one can give me.
Martin
