Well, there already are hundreds (if not thousands) of newsgroups that have
at least one element of their name beginning with a number, some are even
under ibm.* for instance. It may be not supposed to be, but they do exist,
and apparently nothing in the nntp servers or clients prevents them from
working.

I basically agree. Cobalt could do a better job of publicizing the correct
use of the lists, and searching of their archives, but I think Cobalt is
also the entity who should setup the news server and establish the policies
for same, instead of doing nothing and allowing someone else to fill the
vacumn. I think a news server with properly organized groups would be very
beneficial to Cobalt's customers like me who only run a few models from
their entire product line.
