I agree whole-heartedly.
I just did a little survey. The entity Cmopollux has posted approximately
80 posts in the last 15 or so days. I think he/she currently leads everyone
in number of threads started by a single user. About 90% of his/her posts
have been 3 or four lines long requesting assistance. All the ones I read
thru were answered in the knowledge base.

Further, I don't understand what the deal is with AOL's mail client, but it
seems to be unable to quote an email. Either that or AOL users just don't
understand that quoting the context (especially on a mailing list with a
gazillion threads) is not optional, but required.

I've been concerned for awhile now, about several listers who
don't seem to have names. Does AOL's Email client not allow the use
of signatures, or real names? Is Linux so difficult to use that
people have to settle for Email "role accounts"?
Pardon me for seeming slightly paranoid, but I prefer to give
advice/help/replies to people who aren't "handles", "nicknames" or
can otherwise be referenced by some given name/surname structure. Is
that too much to ask that ...
Cmopollux,
"Webmaster",
"Sales - Way to the Web",
"Linux Host",
"WebWorkshop",
"Worldwide Beauty Store Staff",
"WebFusion System Administrator", etc.
... at LEAST sign a NAME to go along with the
non-descriptive references that they have used to setup their Email
clients?
I can make allowances for "Zeffie", "Dan", "H.P.", and other
similarly named folks 'cause those are still names - however short
and vague. I'd just feel better, personally, if we ALL could know
just who it is that we are allowing in and responding to. Is that too
much to ask?
IMO, This anonymous posting shouldn't be allowed. I intend to
auto-delete messages from people who don't appear to BE people!
However, I like the rest of you just fine. : )
