[cobalt-users] (no subject)
Hi, Dee,
Thanks for your respond. But problem is serious. I have done all according
to RaQ3i Manual coming from Cobalt. My virtual site can run. I read all
record about email system from cobalt-users bbs. But I can not find how to
solve it. I have two problem.
My server use name "www" and the first website is
http://www.internetbase.net (my website), I set-up email including
admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, sys@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, tech@internetbase and so on.
But admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx get all email on the server. ie. I have other
virtual site like yohuo.com, coreland.net, they can not get their
email. The admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx get all email including
tech,sys@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx It's terrible.
Moreover, all virtual sites can not get their email. ie. when I send a
email to gonow@xxxxxxxxx(I set-up it correctly and using unique IP for it,
I use it to test virtual site email sys). But I lost the email. After 5
day, I get a info from email site like following:
"
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<gonow@xxxxxxxxx>
----- Transcript of session follows -----
451 <gonow@xxxxxxxxx>... yohuo.com: Name server timeout
451 <gonow@xxxxxxxxx>... www.yohuo.com: Name server timeout
Message could not be delivered for 5 days
Message will be deleted from queue
"
What happened? I think Cobalt still not understand it. I send email to ask
them, but they give me a strange answer, one tell me I can find answer form
cobalt-users list, another tell me I need add email sys for virtual site (
I give him my admin password and he checked my server). But he would not
tell me how to do. Only said I need add email sys, My god.
In a few days, I think why I choice RaQ3i, I think it is easy to setup and
administrate, but now, I spend one month to solve problem(problem still
maintain, maybe it is a good server for one site) and lost my clients.
That's why.
God help me.
Thanks everyone.

Hi Hui!
Welcome to the RaQ world...
Does your Client's web site come up when you use your web browser to view
it, or is he just getting an email address that's part of your domain?
Is his domain in the "Relay for the following Hosts/Domains" table in your
Email Preferences? (That's located under Control Panel), along with DNS and
other servers.
As for adding an email alias...You can do that when you add a user. There's
a box, 'Email Aliases' where you can add other names for an account on your
system. Or, to edit an existing user's email aliases, you can click the blue
button with a picture of an envelope on it in the User List for a site.
For instance, I may have an account called 'Dee', which would get any email
to Dee@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx However, I might also want any email for
webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxx to go into this email box.
So, under the aliases, I'd add webmaster and admin.
But, adding Sys as an alias for your admin account probably won't solve the
user's email problem, I'm guessing. It just means mail sent to
sys@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx will reach you.
I hope this helps...
