If everyone did *at least* that there wouldn't be so many people investigating
big money backup plans after they lost everything.

/etc/
/var/
/usr/
/root/
/home/sites/
/home/spool/

You don't need everything from all of those directories, but it wouldn't hurt to
grab them all until your colo's backup system is in place.  And it's 2am here so
I'm off to bed.  You might want to grab /home/log/ if you want to backup the log
files there and also any other non-listed locations where you installed your own
files or 3rd party software.
