Joseph,

I've had this same problem on a Qube2.  There is a
patch that is not supported by Cobalt but will let you
send mail to anyone.  I had the patch loaded on my
qube2 but the Cobalt update took it off.  I can't find
the address of persona that offered the patch.  Let me
know if you get any mail on this from Cobalt or
whoever.
