[cobalt-users] Installing Crypt::PasswdMD5 (RAQ1)

I'm in the process of updating a cgi of mine that builds the htpasswd files
from a user list.
But need to test it with MD5.

Has anyone successfully installed Crypt::PasswdMD5 on a RAQ(1).
If so, does it affect the existing htaccess system or htpasswd program?
(I really do not want to screw up the existing sites on my server)

I read up on it at perl.com, and found nothing from a search of the list
archives.
