[cobalt-users] Help Using second NIC in Qube.

Hey Everyone, I have a simple on for you. I bought a CacheQube last year
and was recomended by Cobalt to buy the restore CD for the regular Qube in
order to update the software on my CacheQube to support mailing lists and
websites and such. Well I did and it is working pretty well. BUT I would
like to have access to my second NIC so that I do not waste my limited
bandwidth (for backing up and restoring) on my primary nic (256K). I tried
simply creating the ifcfg-eth1 file and using the if-up eth1 but no
results. I checked my dmesg and the nic is found, IRQ is identified and
such but if I run ifconfig then eth1 does not show up. BUT I can run
"ifconfig eth1" and it does show the information on that interface. I
tried using ifconfig to configure the interface by hand and it will show
as UP but no packets are sent or recieved on the interface. Although the
LEDs on the NIC show activity. Does anywone know if Cobalt made special
version of the networking tools that preclude the use of the second
nic? Or is my best bet to buy the CacheQube CD and then manualy add back
in all the other packages I want for the website and user configuration
and suck?
