[cobalt-users] Importing zone files to DNS

Hi,
I'm setting up a primary DNS server on a Qube2. I'd like to import zone
files from an existing primary server (the idea of entering 100's of
entries thru the GUI doesn't sound appealing ;-)
Not getting this to work, I'd like to hear your comments/suggestions, dare
I hope - even solutions to my problem ;-)
This is how I tried to accomplish this:
1. copied zone file from existing primary to /etc/named/pri.foobar.fi
2. added line
zone "foobar.fi" { type master; file "pri.foobar.fi"; };
3. restarted BIND.
The name service for the new domain DOES work e.g.
nslookup ahost.foobar.fi
gives me the right IP address BUT the new domain doesn't appear in the
GUI.
Am I right in assuming that the 'records' file in the /etc/named is the
key ? I think GUI updates the 'records' file and then uses it to create
the zone files to be used by BIND ?
If this is the case, then I'd have to know the exact format of the
'records' file or to have a tool which would take a zone file as its input
and append "appropriate lines" (tm) to 'records'. Is there such a tool in
then known universe ;-) ?
Thx for reading this far and for your comments !
