[cobalt-users] raq3 - php3 mail problem, any ideas?

Hi ppl, I have a strange problem using the mail function in php3 on my raq3.

I have searched the archives and found alot of stuff i already know about
the std
554 rewrite prob but I'm scratching my head over this one..

the script works fine when sending to some other user on another domain that
is not a virtual on my box.. however when the recipient is a user or alias
on any domain
on my box it throws a bounce eg..:

554 rewrite: excessive recursion (max 50), ruleset 3
554 rewrite: excessive recursion (max 50), ruleset 0
550 alchemist@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx User unknown

testing this same script but using just the username no "@domain"
and it resolves and delivers fine...  eg if I send to "alchemist" it works..
I have tried user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx with no success

alchemist is a pop3 account..not an alias...
The domain has a catch all on it.
catchalls on all virtual domains are working ....
I have "a" records on all mail hosts pointing to the ip's

Does anyone have any Ideas ? Any help would be appreciated on or off list.
