[cobalt-users] [Qube2] Disk Usage

Hello
I am having a red flashing alert for system disk usage.... I did browse KB and archives, found a lot of ideas... Seems to me like Cobalt did create a quite small partition for system because The Qube is supposed to be an appliance that nobody will update/upgrade/improve. Unfortunately most of us do install at least php/mySQL, and from there you get an orange alert... Today I tried installing the OS 2 update, I've got a red alert and the update didn't complete...
One of the best ideas I found is doing symbolic links for mysql (for example) so I can move mysql to the home directory. I am quite new to Linux and I don't want to messup my setup so here's what I'd like to do:

1/ Take the whole content of /usr/local/bin to the home dir (something like /home/groups/soft/mysql, mysql being a dir..) (seems to me that /usr/local/bin contains only mysql stuff).
2/ Create a symbolic link in /usr/local/bin pointing to /home/groups/soft/mysql

question:
1/ Should I create a symbolic link for each and every file that was in /usr/local/bin pointing to the real files in /home/groups/soft/mysql or is there a way to create only one symbolic link pointing to the whole dir /home/groups/soft/mysql ...? Is there something to modify in the startup files ?

2/ what would be the command : ln -s real_file link_file (same for a dir ?)

Thanks in advance.
