This may be a stupid question, but have you tried to find out why the
RaQ died ? If it died because of a hardware fault, such as a broken
HD, the restore by itself may not help you. If you have a broken
component, you have to change or fix the faulty part before doing the
restore.
Try connecting a PC to the serial console port and do a reboot with
the PC connected. You should see error messages alerting you to any
faults.
I suspect your RaQ has died because of a drive fault. The drive fault
may, or may not be repairable - an fsck from the console might do the
trick. Try to find out if you can come up with an explanation for the
fault, like a power surge, incorrect reboot and so on. If you can't
find a reason for the drive crapping out, it might be an impending
sign of doom (total drive failure).
If you do have a drive fault, I'd recommend swapping the drive anyway
- mostly because swapping an IDE drive is much cheaper than the
amount of work you have to do (and the dissatisfied customers) in
case of a repeated failure...
Kind regards
