>Specifically for the complaint you mention:(from users directory) 1.) mv <user dir> <user dir>_orig 2.) ln --symbolic ../web/ <user dir> you could just remove the original user home directory (step 1 is just cautionary). Thanks for the info, but I am having a problem. Once I create the link, as admin, when I try to FTP to the directory, I get an invalid password error and it won't let me in. Should I be logging in as the user then making the changes so the ownerships are correct?
This happened to me, with my last "virtual". I think that there is a bug in the system. Here's what I experienced:
Created a virtual domain account, with the client's domain name and information. The box (Raq3) created the four directories (web, logs, etc.). I tried to ftp (as "admin") the client's Web site files from my local drive to the "web" directory, and kept getting errors. I called Cobalt tech support, who confirmed the problem but had no solution. They suggested blowing away any traces of the virtual and creating it again. I did that, but there was no difference. I still couldn't FTP files to the "web" directory.
Here's what I did:I created a new "Web2" directory that sat along side the four default directories, but via FTP. I was able to upload the client files into the directory that I created (go figure). I deleted the "web" directory that the box created, and renamed my directory "web" to replace it.
