I'm mostly a lurker here, but seems to me
that both Jeff and Zeffie have had very
useful information to provide the list,
and I as a newbie appreciate the comments
from both of you.

As far as I know, DNS cannot and does not affect the hostname in the
HTTP header.  I asked my question simply and without comment, because if
it did, I could learn something.

I wasn't attempting to help because, simply put, I thought you might
have known something I didn't.

That's all.  I'm sorry you took it personally.
