What is the easiest way for me to find out the overall disk space on my 
machine ... the disk space currently being used (total) and the disk space 
currently being used in a specific directory (and sub directory).

On a similar note, is there an easy way to "count" the number of files in a 
specific site (a directory and sub directories)?
