We usually create the site, set it up in DNS to test it and then delete the
DNS settings (or point them where they really belong) until the change
happens at InterNIC. You could leave your DNS set up as long as you don't
anticipate anyone who uses your DNS needing to access the domain you are
moving before the move actually happens. That way, when InterNIC changes the
domain settings, it will be immediately available on your servers.
OK, everyone, let's flame Brad for suggesting doing something naughty with
DNS that is very much against the "rules"..... ;^)
