Try stopping sendmail first, then delete the relevant files from the
/home/spool/mqueue directory, then restart sendmail. If you try and delete
it while sendmail is attempting to send the file, I've found that it leaves
things in a bit of a mess and you need to do things in a more controlled,
methodic way - YMMV.
