Hi, thanks for replying. Are there any advantages, other than have a
precompiled package, to purchasing the one released from Cobalt? Does it
offer some kind of GUI integration or anything like that which would make
administration simple?

You only need to purchase it if you reside in the US. Even then only if
you want SSL before Sept. 10
In any other case you can download mod_ssl directly from modssl.org, and
compile it for Apache yourself. That will also allow you to have the
latest version, as opposed to the one shipping from Cobalt which is
nothing else but and old mod_ssl from the Red Hat Secure Server package.
