[cobalt-users] [Raq3i] CGI UID:GID problem

This comes as a result of someone's post earlier today about making sure you
have the right GID:UID on your CGI scripts. It seems in my of my scripts
that if I have a username that is longer that 8 characters when I try to
chown GID:UID filename.cgi, the GID gets truncated to 8 characters and
doesn't work as a result. I assume the same thing will happen for the UID.
When I added a site admin with a username of less than 8 characters and used
it for the chown, everything worked great.
Moral of the story: in addition to the other good reasons to make up a
username like a12001 instead of brad, your CGI scripts are a helluva lot
easier to deal with when you do.
Hopefully this will help someone else avoid ripping their hair out.
